The Knuckle Boom Lifts designed by Genie are quite strong four wheel steering and four wheel drive capable equipment. These units allow for work to be performed effectively, even on rough terrains. The menu based ALC 1000 electronic controls help to enable the user to make easy calibrations to the machine and its parts. System diagnostics are available in multiple languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 unit. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for better performance at higher altitudes. It also carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.
The full-time positive traction and 4-wheel drive ability adds enhanced traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 only provides four-wheel steering. Optional features on this specific unit include coordinated, crab, rear wheel and front wheel steering to give the machine extra agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps improve wheel contact on irregular ground. All of these features make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts smoother and easier to utilize on irregular terrain.
Genie's engine-powered articulating Z-booms are bigger than any other Genie models. They feature a continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs that are engineered to give the user a much better range of motion and reach. The design of the Z-boom gives the units exceptional over and up positioning capability that ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an ingeniously designed mechanism used for both retracting and extending axles out and in of stowed position. If the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 model equipment is just 2.46 meters. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
