Operator Environment
The Spirit Delta cab gives the operator a safe and efficient place to work from. The cab design is the end result of a major study of operators' working conditions. The most important objective is to be able to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is really comfortable and gently rounded. This particular area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all important info, in order to keep the operator working as effectively as he or she could.
Due to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The controller's seat and the hydraulic controls are all independently adjustable to be able to maintain an optimum working position. In addition, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 simple to operate, multi-functioned ergonomically positioned levers which are offered for the window washers, horn, windscreen wipers and gear changing.
A ventilation/heating unit ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator. The incoming air is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for recirculation, defrosting, heating and cooling. As an extra option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all within easy reach. Basic instrumentation consists of: high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. In addition, gauges display values for engine coolant, gearbox oil pressure, fuel quantity and operating time.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is amongst the main options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These units make it easier to supervise the machine. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any faults that occur and their current values.
