Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they move loads. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to pick up and transport tall or unstable loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the best answer if you are searching for an inexpensive method for transporting loads from one location to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right option.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece equipment made particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can function in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of machine during physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
