Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They can run using liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for numerous applications. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment must be refueled.
In order to avoid potentially serious injury, specific precautions should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be certain to wear the correct safety equipment like safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by using the hand.
