JLG Telehandlers West Virginia
After spending numerous years working along with his brother to build their crane manufacturing company into a leader of the industry, John L. Grove decided to stop working. His wife Cora and John celebrated their retirement by going on a cross-country journey utilizing their R.V. After that trip, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the worldwide leading producer of mobile aerial work platforms and specialized material handling machines.
In the R.V. trip, John spent much of the time talking to prior business associates that the Groves stopped to visit along their journey. Tragically, while they visited the Hoover Dam, 2 employees were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. Through subsequent conversations, John discovered a huge untapped market for a kind of machine which could quickly and safely lift people into the air in order to perform construction and maintenance functions.
John decided to take action when John and his wife returned from the journey. He began a partnership with two close friends when they purchased a small metal manufacturing business within McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. During 1970, with an initial team of 20 staff, the trio built and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. Many parts of the basic design elements of that very first equipment are still being incorporated into the existing equipment
The company has come a very long way since John L. Grove came back into town from his cross-country journey and have grown significantly since they debuted their first aerial work platform. Even nowadays, JLG continues to expand into additional worldwide markets. A lot of innovative machinery are made to help customers work safer and be more effective.
JLG has remained devoted to being the leader in the business. The business takes operator comfort into account really seriously. They strive to deliver in performance, along with overall comfort and safety so that the operator can be as productive as possible.
