Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an important tool in industry and commercial businesses since the year 1917. During its history the forklift has evolved through various kinds, from a simple tractor with an attached platform to a particular high-tech equipment. Forklift tires have also changed into specialized tires, with different types designed to suit particular applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is made of rubber or solid polyurethane and is suitable for indoor applications on smooth surfaces. The tread of a cushion tire is pressed or binded onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for various load capacities. Cushion tires are commonly used in warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with foam or air. They are offered in two kinds: radial or bias. Depending upon the application, they come with different sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires maintain constant pressures and are less prone to punctures. Pneumatic tires are usually utilized outdoors on surfaces that are uneven and rough.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
Solid Pneumatic Hybrid tires combine the puncture resistance of a solid tire with the comfortable ride of a pneumatic tire. They are an option to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Used on wheel loader forklifts are large rubber tires that could either be pneumatic, solid or foam. These tires are best for transporting and loading bulk items into processing equipment or onto trucks. Large flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts normally used at automobile recyclers, lumberyards and construction sites.
