Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places orderly and to store supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck is available in quite a few models: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The truck forks slide under the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet deep.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is like the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This version has telescopic forks intended to position the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet should go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the added advantage of being able to not just slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units could be accessed in multiple directions. This particular version is best in situations where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Normally more than one type of reach truck is required in warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile firms utilize various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to use and can increase productivity while maximizing available storage space.
